In the latest of a list of internet hoaxes, someone has begun posting “news reports” that teen star Miley Cyrus is dead. Although it is unclear where it began, the prank includes a “Yahoo News” report (see below), as well as a very fake “Fox News” video on Youtube.
The “report” claims the Hannah Montana star’s vehicle was hit by a large truck in the early morning hours of Friday September 5th. If the poor editing job of the video is not enough proof the report is fake, then the fact that the lead photo above was taken Friday evening at the 5th annual Fashion Rocks concert ought to do it.
The very sick prank also tries to pass off a photo of the Nikki Catsouras crash as Miley’s “car accident.” Nikki Catsouras was an 18-year-old who was decapitated in a tragic car accident while driving her father’s Porsche. Graphic photos of the accident were leaked onto the internet by the California Highway Patrol.
I will not be posting the video of Miley’s “car accident” because it contains the graphic photo of Nikki Catsouras’ decapitation, however I have provided the link for those of you who choose to view it.
Whoever started this disturbing rumor has now brought distress to the family and friends of two young ladies.
