After the infamous Slightly Exposed Back-gate, formerly-exiled Miley Cyrus has been welcomed back into the Disney fold. They missed their little cash cow who lays golden Faberge eggs in a diamond bucket. So much so that they're allowing Miley to hold her 16th birthday party in public at Disneyland, according to Entertainment Tonight:

The "Hannah Montana" star is also sharing the spotlight during the private party with some deserving young people from Youth Service America who've been making a difference in their communities.
And ET has learned that Miley's fans are going to be able to join in the fun too! A limited number of $250 tickets to the exclusive event, "Miley's Sweet 16 -- Share the Celebration," go on sale on August 30 at 9am PDT.

So, essentially, Miley Cyrus has to work on her Sweet 16. Adorable. Goddammit, Disney, this is exactly the kind of thing that ends in me seeing crazy Southern vagina. What does teen sensation Miley Cyrus have in store for her upcoming Sweet 16 party at Disneyland? Ice cream cake, water rides and – fingers crossed – a brand new car!

"I definitely want to get something bad on the road," Cyrus told Radio Disney on Aug. 21, adding that the vehicle must be "big enough for all my friends and to scare all the cars away from me. I'm a good driver but it's everyone else that I'm worried about!"



Along with a new ride, Miley's growing birthday wish list includes a Wii Fit and a puppy.

Cyrus – who actually turns 16 on Nov. 23 – announced Thursday that she is celebrating her benchmark birthday a month early on Oct. 5 with a blowout party at Disneyland.

"I'm stoked!" Cyrus told Radio Disney. "Most everyone dresses up on their Sweet 16. Not me. I'm going to be ready to get in the water and ready get on the crazy rides. That's all I want to do the entire time is ride the rides."

So what's in store for the next chapter in the life of Miley? "This year one of my goals is not to stress just kind of let life come as it is," says Cyrus. "I'm going to try and do that a little more. Just take things step by step instead of always having a plan."

Miley Cyrus' '7 Things' Is About Nick Jonas, Director Brett Ratner Seemingly Reveals

'She reminded me a lot of Madonna,' Ratner says of VMA-nominated tween queen.

Veteran video director Brett Ratner has worked with Madonna, Mariah Carey, Diddy, Jessica Simpson, Wu-Tang Clan and many others. And he's got high praise for VMA Best New Artist nominee Miley Cyrus, whose "7 Things" clip he recently helmed.


"She reminded me a lot of Madonna," Ratner told MTV News. "And I hate saying that, but what I mean is, like Madonna, she can be hanging out and laughing, and then you put the camera on her and it's like, 'Holy sh--!' "

That effervescence actually made the simple performance video more difficult for the director. "It was the hardest video I've ever edited because every moment was great," he said. "Every moment that she was on camera, she was amazing. She's got an incredible quality about her. She gets the camera, and that's what it takes to make a great music video.

"She came out in these high-heel boots and I was going to say something to her about them," he continued, "but on her own she was like, 'I'd feel better in sneakers.' Her instincts are great. She has great charisma and personality."

He recalled discussing the video with the young star during a visit to her home, where she told him how much the song — which she co-wrote — means to her, and said that it's about an ex-boyfriend. (Cyrus told MTV News last month that much of the album is about ex-boyfriends.)

While Ratner declined to reveal who exactly that ex is, he gave away a significant detail — perhaps inadvertently — that seems to confirm the song is about Nick Jonas. Cyrus recently admitted, after months of unconfirmed speculation, that she dated Jonas for two years.

"She had me come out to her house," Ratner recalled. "She started showing me all of her personal items from under her bed that her ex-boyfriend gave her. So she pulled out his dirty socks and a bunch of photographs.

"The necklace she's wearing in the video is the necklace he gave her," he said. "She's wearing his diabetes or medical necklace."

Nick recently made himself a de facto spokesperson for awareness of the disease: Earlier this month, the group held a press conference where he said the title track to their new LP, A Little Bit Longer — for which he wrote the lyrics — is a "life song" where he addresses his affliction.

For his part, Ratner said he believes Cyrus has the talent and the attitude to make her not only a Best New Artist, but a career artist.

"She was very down to earth, and it's kind of very popular for little girls in the entertainment industry to be kind of bratty," he said. "I couldn't believe how many people wanted to visit [the video set], and I've worked with people like Mariah and Madonna. She was very gracious and she's very smart. She really knows her stuff. Look, [whether] she wins or not, I think she'll make a great transition [from being a teen star]. She's very conscientious of her persona and of the crossover."

He also pointed out what he sees as her emotional maturity, and her comfort with being a 15-year-old superstar.

"She's not, like, frustrated with where she's at," he said. "You can tell by the lyrics that they're very personal and that's how she'll make that transition. The stuff she talks about in the video is clever and emotional and fun at the same time. You can be 18 and enjoy it too."

Miley Cyrus is NOT Dead!

In the latest of a list of internet hoaxes, someone has begun posting “news reports” that teen star Miley Cyrus is dead. Although it is unclear where it began, the prank includes a “Yahoo News” report (see below), as well as a very fake “Fox News” video on Youtube.

The “report” claims the Hannah Montana star’s vehicle was hit by a large truck in the early morning hours of Friday September 5th. If the poor editing job of the video is not enough proof the report is fake, then the fact that the lead photo above was taken Friday evening at the 5th annual Fashion Rocks concert ought to do it.

The very sick prank also tries to pass off a photo of the Nikki Catsouras crash as Miley’s “car accident.” Nikki Catsouras was an 18-year-old who was decapitated in a tragic car accident while driving her father’s Porsche. Graphic photos of the accident were leaked onto the internet by the California Highway Patrol.

I will not be posting the video of Miley’s “car accident” because it contains the graphic photo of Nikki Catsouras’ decapitation, however I have provided the link for those of you who choose to view it.

Whoever started this disturbing rumor has now brought distress to the family and friends of two young ladies.

Miley Cyrus dating Cody Linley?

Miley Cyrus has fuelled rumours she is dating fellow teen star Cody Linley, after the pair was spotted leaving the actor's Los Angeles apartment late at night.

In the past Cyrus has confessed her crush on the 18 year old, who plays her love interest in TV show Hannah Montana; she once said, "He is so much fun to look at. He's really fun and down to earth. And he's hot!"

Linley was dating Camp Rock actress Demi Lovato until their recent split - and gossips claims 15-year-old Cyrus has pounced on the newly-single hunk after they were snapped as Linley drove the pair away from his L.A. pad on 2 September.

An onlooker says, "Cody opened the door of his Mustang for Miley, who had a huge smile on her face. She couldn't keep her eyes off him."

But Linley insists he and Cyrus are just good friends: "She came over, and Miley, my roommate and I all painted. We splatter-painted. Right now, we're just very close friends."

Miley Cyrus Never Ever Leaving Hannah Montana Ever. Ever.

Hannah Montana made Miley Cyrus a star - well, to be more accurate it was Hannah Montana, constant implied teenage nudity and a creepy dad.

But for now let’s just assume that Hannah Montana made Miley Cyrus famous. It was a great set-up - Disney got hundreds of millions of dollars and Miley Cyrus got to be brought up surrounded by people all too scared to ever disagree with her, giving her dangerously false expectations for the rest of her life - but there may be trouble on the horizon.

Rumour has it that Miley Cyrus feels she’s got too big for Hannah Montana and is trying to get fired from the show. However, Disney has shot down these reports and has promised all the young fans that Miley Cyrus will remain on Hannah Montana forever. Nice try, Miley. Don’t you know that the only way to leave a creatively stifling kid’s TV show is to get pregnant? Did Jamie Lynn Spears teach you nothing?

We get the feeling that Miley Cyrus is trying to grow up and shed her teenybop image at the moment. It might not be obviously apparent, but it’s true - we’ve managed to pick up hints by observing the way that Miley Cyrus keeps taking off all her clothes, has snared herself a 20-year-old underwear model boyfriend and has curiously developed a voice that sounds like Dr Claw from Inspector Gadget.

And quite right too - just because Miley Cyrus is three years away from being able to vote or have sex and six years away from being able to drink and still lives with her parents and isn’t even allowed to go and see Tropic Thunder by herself yet, it doesn’t mean she’s a child.



But there’s one thing standing between Miley Cyrus and her dreams of maturity, and that’s her show Hannah Montana. Hannah Montana is a sensation - it has spawned a movie, sold-out tours, ten CDs, four DVDs, five videogames and 20 novelisations in two years - but it appears that Miley Cyrus might be getting a little bit sick of it holding her back.

Reports this week suggested that Miley Cyrus was going all-out to get the sack from Hannah Montana, by turning up to work late, holding up filming wherever possible and generally infuriating everyone she works with. However, leaving aside the fact that Hannah Montana makes so much money that Miley Cyrus could probably stroll into work clutching the severed head of Nelson Mandela and not get fired for it, Disney and Miley have rushed out statements to deny these reports outright. According to Reuters:

Patti McTeague, a Disney spokeswoman for the “Hannah Montana” show, told Reuters that reports of on-set turmoil were “absolutely not true, pure gossip.” “I am fully committed to ‘Hannah Montana,’” Cyrus told People, “It’s what gave me this amazing opportunity to reach out to so many people.”



Look, everyone, this united front act is nice and all, but you can drop it. If Miley Cyrus wants to leave Hannah Montana, let her.

And so what if Miley’s attempts to become a proper grown-up entertainer leave her twisting in the wind like a modern-day Dustin Diamond because she never realised that people only liked her for being in Hannah Montana? It’s not as if Miley doesn’t have other career options - we’re sure she’ll make a bucketload of money from the tragic, embittered ‘Dad, you stole my childhood’ autobiography that she’ll inevitably write before the age of 25, for example.

And Disney should think of the benefits of Miley Cyrus leaving Hannah Montana too - with her gone, it’ll be free to start up a brand new cacky kid’s sitcom with a younger, cheaper teenage star who’ll quickly get corrupted by fame and end up having bizarre opinions of herself that are far above her station as well. It’s not the end of the world by any means.
